Reverie
(2023);A state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream
Reverie is a project exploring my relationship and connections to painting which stems from my early childhood; whilst it also features photographic documentation of natural environments in London.
Growing up with three older brothers, I sought solace and refuge in the world of art, using painting as a means of escape from the challenges of fitting into a male-dominated environment.
This project not only serves as a homage to my early creative endeavors but also incorporates photographic documentation of natural environments in London. By blending these two mediums, I aim to create a cohesive narrative that explores themes of nostalgia, imagination, and introspection.
"Reverie" is more than just a collection of artworks and photographs; it's an exploration of the intersection between reality and fantasy. Through this work, I strive to recreate and reinvent a space for daydreaming, where processes and words intertwine to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation. Each piece serves as a portal, inviting the viewer to dwell between the realms of the real and the fictional, encouraging them to embark on their own journey of self-discovery and reflection.
